The Rooster
Our handsome rooster’s fame continues to grow; becoming the Tin Sheds’ official mascot appearing on our brochures, bookmarks and other advertising material. When he is not busy on photo shoots he leads a very pleasant life crowing from dawn to dusk, chasing hens and scratching for worms.

Lass the Donkey
Our homely donkey, Lass likes nothing better than a friendly scratch or pat behind the ears. She also loves to snack on apples and carrots and has a particular fondness for gingernut cookies.

Our Sheep
Our sheep like to graze contentedly all day in the paddocks surrounding the Tin Shed. This particular mother is very proud of her twins and their friend.

Snowflake the Lamb
This little lamb Snowflake was photographed when she was 10 weeks old. She must be happy – just look at her smile..!

Rory the Ram
Rory the ram is a true ladies man. He puts his fine stamina down to healthy living and fresh greens.

Hadley the Alpaca
At the Tin Shed we have three alpacas: the outgoing Hadley, his nearly identical twin brother Nelson, and their shy and retiring, dark fleeced companion, Yogi.

Lucy the Kune Kune Pig
It is hard to resist the charm and personality of Lucy and her sister Winnie (not shown here). After all they do say beauty is only skin deep…!...

The Araucana Hen

Would you believe that this pretty hen lays blue eggs? Originally from South America, the Araucana breed is thought to have evolved from a mix of domestic and wild fowls.

Sootie the Black Silkie
This handsome fellow is often mistaken for a Kiwi by visitors recently arrived from overseas. Like the Kiwi, he is unable to fly and likes to dig for insects and worms (though similarities stop there). The Silkie is actually an ancient breed of poultry originating in China.

Mr Reeve the Pheasant
Mr Reeve has recently left his enclosure to enjoy a life of freedom wandering around the Tin Shed’s gardens and paths. Meal time is the highlight of his day and he is always first to arrive when the mash is put out in the morning.

White Silkie Hens
These two pretty hens are much admired at the Tin Shed because of their unique soft and silky feathers.

Whero the Golden Pheasant
This beautiful bird has quite a volatile temperament and he now lives by himself in a large enclosure with lots of natural trees and shrubs. Whero enjoys searching for worms and insects amongst the bushes.
